Coba Koster

Coba Koster (1951) knows to portray the behavior of animals angible. Combining her excellent craftsmanship, love of animals and the patience and ability to study them endlessly make her a true expert in this field. The animals of Coba Koster are instantly recognizable. All her sculptures have a very personal touch. Skilled and loosely kneaded, a dynamic surface skin, extensive detailing and exquisite finishing often with different colored patinas. Although her sculptures are highly figurative they certainly dispose of the tension of an artist with its own handwriting. This is partly because Coba Koster personally performs the whole process from wax model, casting, finishing to patinating of the bronze. And that's to name very admirable and unique.

The animals of Coba Koster move by the love, the craftsmanship and the care with which they were created. Remarkable is her preference for various bird species, the chicken may have the top position. But also an owl, swan or falcon are so aptly characterized by her that you get the feeling they can rise at any moment to fly away.
