SERENE REFLECTION
DISCOVER JELLE LEEK
Jelle Leek (1947) is an extremely passionate glass artist who is not fascinated by the brilliance and clarity, but rather by the devitrification of glass. Through long-term research into the possibilities he developed a unique style, in which calm and modesty are important characteristics. His objects radiate by their simplicity in form, the subtle colors and brilliant surface structures that refer to quiet moments in nature. In his compositions of glass, bronze and stone, it is clear that the nature and the cosmos are his inspiration.
The glass objects from Jelle Leek are distinguished by their understated, almost serene look. The silver satin sheen, like moonlight on a frozen water surface, characterizes his scale and chalice shapes. Combined with bronze and stone he emphasizes the fragility and transparency of his glass creations. Through years of intensive research and experimentation Jelle Leek has developed his own way of making glass and is now considered an authority in the field of glass fusing.
