CONTEMPORARY MYTHS
DISCOVER MARION VISIONE
The sculptures of Marion Visione (1951) are an expression of her deep thoughts. Marion is a traveler in her mind. Inspired by myths and classic stories she creates sculptures that resemble cultural survivors, drawn and distorted by time. Timeless female figures depict universal feelings that transcend the human. Every sculptures tells a special story. Sometimes grand and comprehensive as in 'Apollo and Daphne', sometimes more subdued and personally like the sculpture 'Reflection'.
Marion Visione depicts stories which evoke recognition in the spectator, but always give freedom for own interpretation. The shaping of the sculptures of Marion Visione is special and very personal. Her sculptures are mostly hollow and made up of many delicate layers of bronze. This subtle design is then finished with great detail and extreme refinement, leading to the spacious, elegant and dignified appearance.
