DISCOVER RENE JANSEN
René Jansen (1956) has already established his name as a painter for a long time. His famous still lifes are characterized by 'coincidentally setups'. He prefers his compositions to emerge spontaneously and randomly. René Jansen is a master at dissecting and rejoining of many shapes and colors into a dynamic whole. Again and again he manages to strike the right atmosphere and to find the balance between suggestion and working out details. His paintings are a skilful play of light, color and form in which the enthusiasm of the painter is visible.
Although René Jansen also paints portraits and landscapes, still life is more than twenty years, central to his work. Herein he is therefore unsurpassed and it is always enjoying to watch his stories in paint in which the beauty of impermanence is captured in a sublime way. Layered and lived through, yet sparkling and full of life.
René Jansen actually transcended the notion of 'still life painter'. His paintings are much more than arranging and displaying objects until they form a beautiful composition. He creates tangible spheres, full of passion and life, now with the layering and lived-in look of a fresco which has only become more beautiful over the years.
René Jansen studied at the Academy Minerva in Groningen, The Netherlands.
