Wout Wachtmeester (1958) is a passionate and perfectionist painter who has perfected his brushstroke in recent years. In many shades of green, strong light-dark contrasts and incredible details, he convincingly manages to create a forest. A feast for the eyes and the senses. In itself enough.

His fine collections of trees, however, are more than just a beautiful forest scene. When you walk through a forest of Wout Wachtmeester with your eyes, you feel the sparkle of the light on your face, you hear the crackling of the leaves, the rustling of the wind and the snap of a twig under your feet.

Wout Wachtmeester creates tangible atmospheres that go beyond a super good image. He allows you to be amazed at the beauty of the earthly and brings you back into contact with nature. At the same time, you feel the overwhelming grandeur and antiquity of the depicted landscape, with something of a mystical force in the background. You walk on soil with history, our history, and you can feel it. As if the trees are talking. It is up to us to really see the wood for the trees, and to cherish and guard it.
